Suggestion by Dan
Yes, easily. You might want to buy a graphics card though!
Suggestion by Iminyourcloset
What your looking for is the RAM and Graphics card. You got 4G which is good for RAM, but graphics card needs to be a bit well. Seems like a pretty good comp though, especially the processor.
Suggestion by John
right, you have listed everything we needed to know, and then some LOL.
the cpu- i-3 @ 3.0GHz very good for gaming
4GB DDR3 ram, very good for gaming.
“Intel® HD graphics” absolutely s**t or bad for gaming
it will run WOW1 and burning crusade on medium to low settings. WOTLK or Cataclysm on lowest settings.
you have the beginnings of a good pc there.
you will need to buy a better graphics card. and also a power supply unit (psu) as store bought pc’s have bad, cheap psu’s installed and cheap graphics chips (Intel hd) to save money.
best graphics cards under
$ 65 – HD5550
$ 80 – HD5670 or 9800GT
then get a decent 400w psu like the corsair cx400
Letter to my STRICT future father in law. Only met him TWICE..How do I thank him?? Help writing a short letter?
Im savin all the drama people….and taking you through warp speed time.
Ive been in a long term relationship for 6 years. We met when we were 19 & 20. We have lived together most of these years. His dad is extremely strict, and from the beginning his dad and I didnt hit it off.
We’ve lived about 2 hours from his fathers residence and although my long term boyfriend sees his father only once a year, I have only seen him twice within these 6 years.
We have had bad relations on the phone, and over the last few years, he’s taken my boyfriends/my relationship more serious than before. I am now engaged to be married in early 2012, but nothing formal has been anounced to family, this all happened last night….
So, I need help writing his father a letter because 2 weeks ago the ‘future father in law’ left me a voicemail that said he loved me and he was glad his son and I are together. THIS IS PRACTICALLY “OUT OF CHARACTER” for him…..
I dont even really know him, ive seen him twice, and talked to him on the phone about 10 times but only 3 of those conversation were actually friendly and “family like”, the rest were all baddddd…. So im left with nothing really to write… heres all I have:
“Dear Eddy,
I wanted to thank you for the message you left me, it was warm and heartfelt, and I want you to know it made my day.”
Additional things to write? Something that could be written to anyone you know? Obviously doesnt have to be extremely personal, because I dont know much more about the guy that you do. Thanks, so much for your help readers
The more the better that way I can choose what to cut out ~
Suggestion by Jessica
I think what you wrote is very appropriate.
Dear Eddy,
I want to thank you for the heart felt message you left me. I was glad to hear from you and I know we haven’t been close, but I would like that to change. That message really made my day, so thank you.
Suggestion by Christy
That sounded good to me. If you feel comfortable with it, you can include how you hope in years to come you can look to him as a father. future dad-in-laws like to feel needed.
Suggestion by John Aldrich
It’s OK.
But address to him as Mr. Eddy (or whatever his name is).
As you say you don’t know him very well, you should never call him by his first name without adding “Mr.”.

I think I’d just stop right there. It’s short to the point and gets the message put right through. I wouldn’t mess it up trying to say anymore.
Suggestion by jc
Perfect the way it is.
Congratulations on your engagement. Perhaps your future father-in-law recognizes after 6 years and an engagement, that you and your fiance are in it for the long haul and that it’s time to put old differences aside.

Nope, your original idea is plain and simple and to the point. Send it as is, and if he replies, let the better conversation start from there. You are already more on the right track than you realize here.

(continuing from you)
I feel we haven’t really been able to connect yet. I would like to invite you share some time with me before the wedding. I would like to get to know you better.
Lets set up a day for lunch at your favorite place. Next time we will go to my favorite place. We can swap family stories and make an afternoon of it.
I am looking for ward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Light Headed.

I love your son with all my heart and together we are ready to take the next step in our relationship. I am hoping that you and I can become closer. After all, I consider you my family and I know that it would mean so much to _______(boyfriends name) for you to be an even greater part of out lives.
I am really looking forward to our next visit with you.
Love,
you
it doesnt need to be long. short and sweet is better in my opinion
He sounds like the kind of guy that doesn’t mix words, says what’s on his mind, is forthright and doesn’t require anything flowery or emotional. But he expects respect and decorum.
So I would just say…..
Mr. ________
Thank you for the message. I really appreciate it. It means a lot and I feel the same way. I’m lucky to have (so-and-so) as my soon-to-be husband, and you as my father-in-law.
Love, ___________
Short, sincere and not sickeningly sweet.
